William Wegman

I was first introduced to William Wegman when i was in elementary school, and to this day i still love his work!  William Wegman studied painting in Massachusetts.  Wegman Photographs his dogs for fun but it happened by accident, the accident turned into a success. getting your dog to pose for the camera and can keep them still gets high props from me!!!!

Ron Mueck

I was recently on my Tumblr and I came across this amazing Sculptor Ron Mueck. Mueck  is from Australia but works in England. Mueck creates these giant hyper-realistic sculptors of people, hes done work in the advertising industry for props and animatronics. The first time i glanced at his sculptors i feel in love with how realistic and HUGE these sculptors are compared to a regular person in size.

Christopher Bucklow

Christopher Bucklow gallery opening was one of my favorite that saw in Chelsea. Christopher was born in Manchester, England in 1957. Bucklow is best known for his luminous silhouette photographs. Bucklow’s work is like Photograms, or light painting.

The little dots of light illuminate the subject.  Christopher created his own device in order to get these luminous silhouette photographs. In the image it sort of seems like the light is shining on wrong thing to me, like the light is supposed to actually show the subjects face but it doesn’t which give the image more mystery on the subject. Christopher also works with other mediums such as Painting and Drawing. The paintings and drawing have their own style; they don’t have any relation to his photography work.  The painting and drawing work are very opposite to his photography work.

Overall the exhibitions in in Chelsea were lovely its defiantly a different experience then going to a Museum. Even though galleries only show a few peoples work its still has their own feel or atmosphere in the gallery.

YASUHIRO ISHIMOTO

http://www.briansholis.com/yasuhiro-ishimoto/

Ishimoto was born in San Francisco and raised in Japan. he returned to the states to study agriculture but was later put in an internment camp where he later wanted to be a photographer. Ishimoto studied at Chicago where he started taking street photography he took a few Halloween photographs and pedestrians while in school.  in the later years his where was in Japan. The review mostly talks about Ishimoto's life work as a photographer he recently died last February. Ishimotos photographs are "Visually Bilingual" being that he was born in the United States and raised in Japan, you can see his work work and grow into a good variety and body of work the both have a great balance which makes his work of great interest.

JOEL MEYEROWITZ

http://www.briansholis.com/joel-meyerowitz/

Joel Mayerowitz review was ok the review mostly talked about Joel's work with black and white photography and the transition of museums and galleries accepting color photography. In the mid-70s Mayerowitz was a street photographer capturing intimate, humorous moments in NYC where he lived then later ventured out to other parts of the country then later photographing international destinations.
